This is a cover of the Elvis Costello song that has haunted my dreams since I first heard it at age 15 or 16.

At the time I recorded this, I lived in a house where getting a silent take was essentially impossible. The walls were thin; we lived close to a busy road; my roommates were busy people; my cat was always barging in. This approach to recording folds in all of those sounds. The jangle that happens early on in the track is the cat jumping down from her perch on top of the stereo where she had been watching me. I'm really happy to have that weird little document of her movement since she isn't alive anymore.
